ASC’s McCain Library has now subscribed to the New York Times online version with historical coverage from 1851-2008. Researching in 157 years of digital back files will be vastly preferable to scrolling through microfilm, and it’s something we’ve hoped to add for the campus for a long time. The Historical New York Times provides researchers with online, easily-searchable first-hand accounts and unparalleled coverage of the political and cultural events of the time – obituaries, too.
Look for the database “Historical New York Times (at ProQuest)” on the library’s A-Z Database List under letter “H” or through this authenticated link. If you are off of the campus network, you will be prompted to login.
We hope you enjoy using this new resource. Note – if you are looking for access to more current issues of the NYT, those are also provided for the campus online. Look under letter “N” on the McCain Library Databases A-Z menu.
Please contact the library if you have questions (call 404-471-6096 or email firstname.lastname@example.org).
