  •  Pearl Cleage

(Hint: Click on the picture to make it bigger)

– Some additional resources we have on Pearl Cleage are video recordings of her at ASC’s 1997 Writer’s Festival, as well as the 2007 MLKJ Convocation.Check out  this link for more information on Pearl Cleage brought to you by McCain Library. http://library.agnesscott.edu/about/events/Pearl%20Cleage-%20Bibliography.htm

  • Alice Walker

– Some additional resources we have on Alice Walker include a video recording of her at ASC’s 1997 Graduation Ceremony, as well as a recording of the well known movie, “The Color Purple” [Call #: DVD 676], which was based upon her book.

– An online database I would recommend for researching these two wonderful authors would be the Literary Reference Center. Simply type in either one of their names and you can find plot summaries, literary criticism, reviews, and more.

So there you have it. I definitely encourage you to go to this event. These two ladies are women that you should absolutely take the time to see at least once in your life and this event is free so take advantage! And remember, this is a conversation! You want to be able to participate in the conversation and show these ladies how brilliant you are =), so before you go OUT, learn ABOUT them and their works!
