Out and About: David Sedaris

Hello all,

Click for biography

I would like to  highlight an event presented by ASO (the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra)that will be taking place next Saturday. The event is…

An Evening with David Sedaris

Saturday, October 27, 2012 8:00 pm
Atlanta Symphony Hall
Ticket Prices: $55 – $47.50

Yes I know the ticket prices are a little expensive, but if you’ve ever read his books you might feel that the price is worth it. If you haven’t read his books, then you should definitely check out some of our library resources listed below. He is a phenomenal writer and I personally enjoy reading his stories.

  • When you are engulfed in flames / David Sedaris [ Call #: PS3569.E314 W48 2008]
  • Dress your family in corduroy and denim / David Sedaris [Call #: PS3569.E314 R47 2004]
  • Me talk pretty one day / David Sedaris [ Call #: PS3569.E314 M4 2001]

Blurb from the ASO website:

With sardonic wit and incisive social critiques, DAVID SEDARIS has become one of America’s preeminent humor writers. The great skill with which he slices through cultural euphemisms and political correctness proves that Sedaris is a master of satire and one of the most observant writers addressing the human condition today.(click for link)

I recommend that if you do have the time and the money, you should go to this event and soak up as much talent from this author as you can. And if you don’t have the time, still read the books listed above. They are a goldmine! And when the next opportunity to meet David Sedaris arises, I know you won’t pass it up. =)

Also, I would like to — really quickly — announce that ASO is also having an event this upcoming Sunday; Halloween on Hogwarts. If you’re interested, (Click here for the link).
