Aug. 19 – New Password for Library Databases

Welcome to Fall Semester! If you’re doing online research, the password for accessing many of McCain Library’s databases from off-campus or over wireless networks changed on Tuesday, August 19. The new password will be valid until January 5, 2015.

Current ASC students, faculty, or staff will see it once logged in to Moodle under the “Lib 101” course.  You may need to enroll yourself in that “course” if you have not done so previously.

To see the full range of more than 300 online resources currently provided by McCain Library, start at the library’s home page, then click (top left or center of the page) the A-Z Database List. Databases may be accessed alphabetically, by subject, or by type. Some e-resources are licensed institutionally for you by McCain Library and others we pay for through Georgia’s GALILEO consortium. (If a resource is licensed institutionally, you’ll be asked for your full name and ASC ID number rather than the GALILEO password.)

For browsing or general interest, you may be interested in the newspapers available, some digital archives and genealogy sources, or – before shopping – the fact that Consumer Reports magazine is included in PDF.

If you’d like research guidance, please drop by the Research Desk, call McCain’s librarians at 404-471-6096, email library@agnesscott.edu, or use our chat service on library web pages. Also, our LibGuides (keyword searchable subject starting points) are available 24/7 without a password.

*If you have trouble getting into the databases or see a message such as “Your patron privileges have expired,” you should call the Circulation Desk at 404-471-6094 or email library@agnesscott.edu. New students, faculty, or staff may not be completely set up in our software yet, but we’re glad to add you manually.

Happy searching!
