On Friday, October 23rd McCain Library hosted a game called History Detective – The Leighton Edition. It was a scavenger hunt that lead teams to information about Lord Frederic Leighton and then challenged them to decide if he did in fact deserve to be knighted and to become a Baron.
Each team presented their case to Queen Victoria. While Queen Victoria and Lady JLP evaluated the arguments and selected a winner Casey and Rachael described the history of the Lord Leighton painting that hangs in the Main Reading Room of McCain Library.
We are happy to report that all of the teams voted to bestow peerage upon Frederic Leighton and believed him to be the Neil Patrick Harris of his time. All Scotties may study with pride beneath his painting in the Main Reading Room.
