On Thursday, McCain Library, the Center for Digital and Visual Literacy, and Charis Books hosted a joint Scavenger Hunt to educate students about the many resources available to them. However, we couldn’t have had such a successful program without the student organizations who pitched in to help.
Members from the NAACP and the Black Power Book Club set up a table of all their favorite reads, sharing with students what books inspired them the most.
ASCEND and Latinas Unidas also advertised their favorite titles and met with students and professors to talk about the history of their organization and what their goals were for the current school year.
Thank you NAACP, Black Power Book Club, ASCEND, and Latinas Unidas for taking time out of your busy first week of classes to come by and welcome new students. We greatly appreciate your initiative and involvement on our campus and in our library!
We also would like to thank Avellino’s, Charis Books, Ebrik, Grindhouse Burgers, and Piece of Cake for donating gift cards for raffle prizes. Raffle winners will be contacted by Wednesday, September 4th.
