Display Day: Art During the Civil Rights Movement


Stop by McCain Library to check out the new display one of our amazing student assistants did on Art During the Civil Rights Movement! Included in this display is a gallery of different artworks and artist who rose to prominence during this time as well as postcard pictures for observers to take home. Pick your favorite image to display in your dorm room and take it with you!



You can also find select readings on the rise of the Black Power Movement and the art that helped expose prejudice and promote resistance. Check out this display in the Main Reading Room on the right side of the fireplace!
