Welcome, Scotties!

Welcome, Scotties, to a new semester at Agnes Scott! This Fall will present new challenges for all of us, which is why McCain Library is here to make your research and resources as easily accessible as possible. Check out our tips for staying up to date on what the library can offer you this semester!

  1. Follow our social media accounts to keep up with the latest library news and resources.
  2. Visit the McCain Library Canvas page to find answers to frequently asked questions such as: “Can I meet one-on-one with a librarian for research help?” and “Does the library buy all the textbooks for my classes?”
  3. Book an appointment with a research librarian! While we cannot see your lovely faces in person, we would still love to meet you all through Zoom research sessions! Use the “Schedule a Research Appointment” button on the library homepage to book an appointment with one of our four great research librarians!
  4. During library hours of operation, which you can view on the library website, library personnel will be staffing the chat box on the library homepage. Here, you can find the answers to many of life’s greatest questions such as, “How can I locate this article from the Wall Street Journal?” and “How do I book an appointment with one of your four awesome research librarians?” If you need an answer outside of library operating hours, pop a question into the chat or email us at library@agnesscott.edu and a staff member will be sure to get back to you as soon as possible.
  5. If you have an upcoming paper or assignment, be sure to plan plenty time for research. If you are new to college research or need a little extra help but don’t want to commit to one of our four awesome research librarians yet, check out our LibGuides to see the various research and subject guides available to you.
  6. Check out the Continuity of Library Services guide to see what services we offer virtually. This will be your go-to place for all services the library currently provides.

As always, we miss seeing you around campus and hope all of you have a fantastic semester!
