Mi Gente Mural by Agnes Scott Alumna Yehimi Cambrón

The Atlanta History Center commissioned artist, activist, and Agnes alumna Yehimi Cambrón ’14 in 2019 to construct the Mi Gente mural that now lines the outside wall of the center. Mi Gente imagines the various lives, histories, and experiences of Atlanta’s Latinx community through its great heroes and leaders as well as its lesser known individuals. Cambrón explores education, labor, gender, political advocacy, and activism through these larger portraits and their smaller vignettes. To view a virtual guided tour of the mural, visit the Atlanta History Center’s website. Here you can find videos with Cambrón and detailed photos of the mural along with the artist’s own words about the life and legacy of the Latinx community.
